Incommunicado !

BB and I were without home Internet for four whole days!! It went out on Friday afternoon and we didn't get it back until late in the afternoon today, Tuesday. I'm glad to be back in touch with the world, but it was interesting to witness and reflect upon how lost we were without our connection.

We had no email to read or send, BB was unable to go on Facebook, play poker, or look things up on Google, and I couldn't Flickr, blog, or organize photos - activities that have come to take up quite a bit of our time. We had to find other things to do instead, such as talking, reading, making phone calls, going to the movies, the library, the gym, and getting things done on our "to do" lists. I did a lot more writing than I usually do, and I got a lot of laundry done, too.

So, is all the time we spend online a bad thing? Are we better off without it? I don't know. It's true that I spend a lot of my time on Flickr and Blogger, but those are both things that engage me creatively. Would it be different if I were knitting or building model airplanes?

BB says, "all things in moderation."

I often wonder what I did in the old days. For one thing, I read more. I agree with BB. All things in moderation is a good mantra.

Welcome back!
